Test Pagination on Dashboard For Posts and Pages

Test Pagination on Dashboard For Posts and Pages

Published on: 01/06/2026, 02:57 PM by Software Developer

Yesterday, I also attempted to reuse pagination codes that I set up for the Blog pages (having "Previous and Next Buttons").  These codes worked for the Blog Page, and also for the Search Results pages.

I thought why not experiment and add it to the Dashboard Posts and Pages as well?

It worked in splicing the posts also, arranging them in reverse array yesterday, so I thought I'd deploy those codes too with Pages.

Then I noticed, when you click "Edit" on the dashboard, it was fetching the index numbers of posts, which means I have to also do codde tweaks on all the other modules that touch this.

Uhnnnn,,, NO,

So I just reverted back.  To the much simpler earlier version.

I thought well, again, "if it ain't broke don't fix it."

I've been a php full stack developer for so long working in all sorts of ways to customize Wordpress, and now that I've built my own CMS, I should not spend so much time wordpressifying this.

So Note to Self:

Just build functionality that is necessary.

Pagination is good for front end (like the blog), but for the Admin area, it's easier to just speed scroll down to see the last file that was being worked on.

:-)
