How to Use The Link Shortener

Here is how to use the Link Shortener, where you can Add, Edit or Delete long links.    

In the CMSbyCW Package, both user roles, Admin and Editor  can Create, Add, Edit and Delete long links.

1. Admin
2. Editor

For this example, login as an Admin 

1) Go to your browser, and type your Domain Name.  The Home Page is where you will see the "Login to the CMS" link.

2) You will then see the Login Page

Just type your Admin Username, Password, and click the Login Button

3) When you are logged in, you'll see your "Dashboard".  Select the "Manage Link Shorteners" link.

(Notice that I have also included a "Help" link in the Dashboard header, so you always have a direct link to the CMSbyCW documentation or FAQs, in case you need that resource).  

4) On the "Link Shortener" Module, you can

4.1) Add the Long URL on the field

4.2) Optionally, you can type what the shortlinks text should display

4.3) Or, you can let the Link Shortener create a 6 character count shortlink

4.4) The Shortlink would display on the table below it.  

5) Under the "Actions" Column, you can  click the "Copy" link to copy the shortlink to your clipboard, and paste it on the blog post, or page, that you want the shortlink to display in. 

6) Note that you can use this Link Shortener App for other websites in the "Long URL" field (4.1), and the shortlink will have your domain name

For example: " YOURDOMAIN . com / d456fe"    on the Short Slug field (4.2)  This may be useful for those Users who want to shorten their long affiliate links.  .
