Blueprint

Blueprint

Published on: 01/14/2026, 11:30 AM by Software Developer

I finished (or so I think) the Technical Documentation, the "Blueprint",  for the following software packages:

1) CMSbyCW

2) CW Simple Site

3) CMSbyCW Software Licensing Control Panel

And so far, it is about 179 pages, with Table of Contents and my thoughts typed and frozen in print, my future self will thank me, when I think about, "And how did I do that?"  or "Which specific lines of code do I need to tweak, if I want to reuse that in another website?"

I cleaned up all the codes ... removed spaces, aligned code blocks, and all that jazz.

And then the next step was, create a final DEMO site, keeping it kosher, and remove unnecessary test files or dev thoughts, in order to make it usable and easier to replicate, by those future Users of the CMSbyCW

I even created a quick "YourDemoLogo" for the Header.  I just named the file something generic, so other users can just upload their own logo, and it will overwrite that simple sample logo I made.:

That way it is easier for me, also, to have a clear distinction what website I am working on.

On the Blueprint, I also created a page, like a checklist, on which files to edit, FIRST and FOREMOST, so that Users can make it their own.

I did the same thing for the favicon file, and I created a blog post on how to create one, without a favicon generator.

I was going back and forth on the pros and cons of having a forum, and opening up comments on blog posts.

I ended up with just creating a feedback page, so it is easier for everyone.

I hardcoded it to display as a link, "Got feedback?" at the bottom of all blog posts.

The Feedback page is the public interface. (Comments will display after it is manually approved by the Admin)

The Contact page is more private. (This would be for those Customer Service type communications).

Going back to simple is good.

I know how to setup WP Sites and test drive software and plugins and ecommerce shops...

... real question is, do I still want to do all that?

If the goal is to just publish Posts or Articles, and have a way for website visitors to communicate with the Company behind the Website - this CMSbyCW can already do all that.  :-)

Without the bloat.  And constant updates.  No database to corrupt or hack.

No surprises. Just a website.  :-)
